Hi The drivers you installed for the scanner are causing your problem,you need to remove them.Make sure the scanner is disconnected from the computer for this. Start your machine and right after the POST screen,before the Windows startup screen,tap the F8 key repeatedly until your start options screen comes up. Try booting with the 'Last known good configuration' option first. Install Windows Xp On Hp Dc 7900 Desktop Pc. If Windows starts up and functions normally then it worked and has taken you back to right before you installed the software.If not,we'll restart and go through the F8 routine again. This time,use the 'Boot in Safe Mode' option.If you're not familiar with safe mode everything will look really big,that's normal.Go to Start-Programs-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore.Start sys. Restore and follow along until it asks you which restore point you want to use.Look for a point before you installed the scanner and pick that. It takes a while to restore,and it will restart your computer at some point.And hopefully after that everything will be normal again.
