Dear Sammi Having had one of these printers, I can advise as regards your problem. The printer, of course, came out prior to the release of win xp.
No driver actually exists specifically for this printer in respect of win xp. The official Canon line is that the printer is not win xp compatible. However, in my own enquiries, i was informed by someone that he was using the win 2000 driver with no problems with this printer on win xp. Php Serial Port Communication Linux Os.
Officially Canon state that the printer may work with win xp using this driver, but with 'reduced functionality' However, according to my advisor, the driver in practice, functioned perfectly well under win xp. I therefore did download and install that driver on my win xp system, and found that I was able to use the printer fine. Hp Designjet 650c Driver Windows 7 X64 there. I didnt keep the printer long, so was not personally able to fully test it out in all respects as regards functions, but there didnt seem to be any problems.

Go into control setting and select 'add printer' 3.
Follow the procedure to install a printer,a nd when the 'add disk' option appears in a dialog box, click on it 4. Browse to your folder that contains the unzipped files, and then it is straightforward to complete installation. As part of this installation procedure, you will be informed that the driver is not 'digitally signed'. Choose the option to continue anyway. Continue to completion of installation. I was used it with Windows ' 95 at first, then ' 98 and now i want use it with Windows XP Profesional, Service Pack 2, but unfortunately it won't work. (The drivers i have works only with Service Pack 1). Every time i need to list something, i must reinstal the printer. If i close or restart the computer apears the mesage 'LPT1 port don't exist' and i must reinstal the printer all over again. I'm very found of my printer, is a very good product.
