Ratchet PHP + apache + SSL. Client can connect and send message to Ratchet but can't receive from server. Get users to use the download button instead of right.
Ratchet can listen on any port. But if you want to run it on the same port as your webserver (and you do) that means you get to enjoy the awesomeness of proxy servers! Because the webserver is already listening on the relevant port. The bigger problem is that php by its nature is dependent upon a webserver being deployed in front of it. That said, you don't need a webserver running to fire up Ratchet. You can test perfectly well with the Ratchet server running on any port you like. Just remember that to use it in production you'll need a proxy as ws:// and wss:// need to run on 80/443.
